Hi all...

As a software developer I'm new to this list but I've read thru the various postings about importing data into Simply. We are writing an application that will be updating Simply customers, sales orders, invoices, applying cash against outstanding invoices etc. Brigitte mentioned .IMP files as a possibility, and there is also an SDK (software developers kit) but it uses byte arrays and would take a considerable amount of time to master.
I'm wondering if there are any developers on this list that have already tackled the import/export issue who might be able to save us a considerable amount of time and effort.

I believe you have stumbled across the reason that there are (to my knowledge) no 3rd party products that write directly to the Simply database.

Well, actually Brigitte, there is at least one developer doing just that: Bold Point Software of Vancouver, makers of T-Man.

I stand corrected.... I forgot all about T-man, and they have been around for a very long time.

thanks for pointing this out for all those who are interested!

Thanks Ralph....I'd forgotten about Bold Point. I installed T-Man for a client many years ago (DOS version).

Barry & Brigitte:

Actually it is still a DOS program, although the underlying "lock manager" has a Windows version.

It does interface with GL and AP in Simply 7 and 8.0
