Hello,
Sage 300 2021, SQL

When printing OE picking slips we always uncheck the box "Include Picking Slips Already Printed."

1. Order is entered, status is Posted
2. We kick off a print, picking slip prints, status is changed to Picking slip printed
3. We ship against the order but there is a back order, shipment changes the status to posted
4. We kick off a print, picking slip prints, status is changed to Picking slip printed
5. We invoice the order, status is changed to posted
6. We kick off a print, picking slip prints again, status is changed to Picking slip printed

I understand the logic to print the picking slip if there is a backorder after the shipment but why print again after that shipment is invoiced?

Thank you

I will also ask the question why doesn't the OEORDH.NUMINVOICE value change with each invoice? The OEORDH.NUMSHPMENT does with each shipment.

No it doesn’t print the picking slip again once invoiced

The closest you get is if you go to OE Forms and select By Order Number you will only get the back ordered Picking slip

Once you invoice the back ordered you can’t reprint the picking slip

Thanks Mr Mayor but it does when the order doesn't shipped complete from the 1st shipment.

Always uncheck the box "Include Picking Slips Already Printed."

Try this.
Enter an order with two lines
Print picking slip
Ship 1 line complete
Print picking slip
Invoice that one shipment
Print picking slip

You will receive 2 picking slips with the back ordered line on it.

Ah I see what you mean
You will get a picking slip with 2 lines. One with the backordered line.

However the fully shipped line has a 0 on quantity ordered.
Also this is coming up because when you print the picking slip you now printing it by Order Number instead of Shipment number. If you print against shipment it won’t come up with the backordered line.

My setup is invoice automatically after shipping so whenever you print the picking slip it won’t bring up the backordered.

Maybe the go around if your users are printing against an order instead of against a shipment, is to custom tailor the form so that it prints qty shipped only and ignore qty ordered

Thanks Mr Mayor.

Prior I tried your comment "custom tailor the form so that it prints qty shipped only and ignore qty ordered".

The issue is the UI used to print the picking slips controls the database update once printing is done.

We kick off a print preview, print the PDF's, once we close the preview box Sage is looking at all the records found during the UI search and changes the database field related to status OEORDH.PRINTSTAT. So no matter what the crystal reports back doesn't impact the database updates occurring.
