How do I change and POST the total tax amount for a document:

Docs say: "To enter taxes manually: Clear the Calculate Tax option. Enter new tax amounts. You can also change the tax base, if necessary. Click the Distribute Taxes button to distribute the new tax totals automatically to all the detail lines on the document."

I have tax classes defined. Customer has a partial tax exemption. Resulting rate is not defined in Sage. I want to manually enter the tax amount on OE documents.

In below example calc tax is 76.59, I want to override to 40.00

It allows me to override, but when I try to post, I get the error...

Description: Invalid input. The total tax amount of the details [76.59] does not match the tax amount of the document [40.00] for tax authority MA01.

Make the totals match.

How? On the taxes tab for Order Entry, it defaults to 76.59 as the calculated tax. I un-check the calculate tax box, and manually enter 40.00. No matter what I try, I get a post error because the tax I am charging is not the calculated amount of 76.59

Sorry, I am not getting it.

The only place I can make a change is on the tax tab. I have to use the same tax group so that the partial tax is posted to the proper GL account.

Not letting me post unless the amount is the original calculated tax amount.
