Hi Everyone,

I have an Accpac 100 (6.0) installation with a Pervasive back end and they are looking to upgrade to the latest version of Accpac.

Is it a straight upgrade of Accpac program files? Do I need to do a database conversion? Also, can they stay on Pervasive for SQL?

Needless to say that they are a very small company and is basically doing the upgrade just so they can use Excel 365 with the FR reporter.

ROTFL. Pervasive has been dead for years. What's their budget?

Interesting....

I have no idea what their budget is but I have a feeling that since they have been paying their annual software maintenance fees, they are probably just looking to pay for the upgrade labor fee.

If database is under 10 Gb, then SQL Express is free

ok it is way under 10 GB so SQL Express would work.

Is SQL Express mandatory with the latest version of Accpac?

So it looks like the clients want to go with Accpac 6.5 and SQL Express.

Can anybody suggest a good Pervasive to SQL converter?

A simple DB dump, DB load will do just fine
Keep a close eye on UOM

Thank you. So far the data looks good in SQL.

Any other things to look out for?
