After a user enters their Username and Password, there is a long delay; 20 to 30 seconds, before the initial window appears. Often in the title bar of the sign in window, "not responding" appears for several seconds before the sign in box disappears and the initial window appears. Also, when opening a module for the first time, there is a substantial delay, but subsequent opening of the same module is quite fast.

The server is substantially oversized for the load so it should not be resource starved. Looking at the various performance monitors when this delay occurs indicates that there is a lot of memory available and very little CPU utilization.

The server is running Windows 2012 R2, has 16GB of RAM, and the network is Gigabit throughout. There are only 5 or 6 users on the network typically, but even when testing with no other users logged in, the delay is apparent.

Are there any performance 'tweaks' that might reduce the delay of initial startup of the client application? The workstations are current generation with good performance on other apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Check the PATH and the Customization Directories for old servers. And exclude Sage folders from malware scanning.
