Hi All,

I was confused in the closing year procedures and ended up closing, printing and clearing the batch status reports, posting journals and closing the year resulting in consolidated amounts for the journal and General Ledger Listings.

I would appreciate very much if someone can help me recover the details of the consolidated amounts mentioned above.

TIA,
tony

Hi Tony:
How did you get consolidated? Did you print the Print/Consolidate G/L Transactions in the sub-modules and then consolidate? Did you run 'Consolidate Posted Transactions' in the G/L Periodic Processing Menu?

At any rate, if you don't have a backup that's not also consolidated, there's nothing you can do.
It's a good idea to keep multiple father-grandfather backups.
We always recommend that our clients have us do the year-end procedures for them to be sure everything gets done properly and they have archived year-end data and reports.
At least you have the printed posting journals which should show you the details.

Unless you have a backup from before the backup, and are prepared to redo all the work to make it current, you're hooped.

Why don't you use Adagio? It can retrieve all your subledger batches, you don't lose any information at year end, it stored multiple years of history and would NEVER have let you run two year end one after another.

Hi Tony:
If you'd like to see a free, no obligation remote demo of Adagio, we would be happy to do that for you.
What ACCPAC Plus modules are you using?

You can get more info on Adagio here:

Hi Howard,

Sorry to have answered only now. We already have the Adagio GL version 9.1A and been using it for the last 2 years. But old habits with the old A+ die hard so I always go back to it specially when inputting transactions.

BTW, I have a backup copy in a flash drive as of November 30, 2014 on a calendar year basis, so all I have to do was re-install the backup, then re-input the December transactions and we are good again.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the replies.

Hi Tony:
I'm glad to hear you were able to find a backup.
You will find if you avoid the crutch of using ACCPAC Plus, you will be just as fast (if not faster) entering transactions in Adagio Ledger, particularly if you learn and make use of the speed-entry features.
