cutting long story short
called in to assist a client though not yet mine. initially wanted to upgrade from v55 to v61 but other softwares didn't like the new version. ended up on v56

windows server 2012r2
pervasive 10.10
Accpac 56 sp3
remote desktop conections
clients running windows xp

previously windows 2003
pervasive 10.10
Accpac 54
terminal services
xp machines

previus setup used to work until they migrated to new server 2012

I did the upgrade from scratch and solved other issues we had. now randomly when posting a gl batch or recurring entry we get error "attempt to access locked record"

reboot and other gl batches posts. the particular is now being viewed as empty though its got transactions

Probably that Pervasive version isn't compatible, but I wouldn't know, I stopped using Pervasive 5 years ago.

Get rid of Pervasive - move into the new millenium and use SQL server.
Something is messed up in either Pervasive or Accpac.

my thoughts exactly. I told the client on advisory role since its not really my client.

I was called in to sort issue and much of them occur when you convert data under pervasive. I did convert in Sql and sorted much of it.

the GL DIC on their server and my laptop run ok without issues.

let me throw the bomb.

They need to either upgrade their Pervasive or switch to MS SQL Server - either way they will spend some money. It is better to invest in MS SQL Server.
