Are we really talking about Simply Accounting? The version number seems more like an old version of ACCPAC for Windows. Since about 2005, Simply Accounting (now Sage 50) has used the year as the version number.

In addition, there is no option in Simply to keep more than one year open.

The system shows Simply Accounting for Dos 4.0
On desk top it reads MS dos bedford and another one reads Ms Dos Simply
It was able to hold several years history allowing you to advance to new year and still make reference to past years.
I would just like to know if my history is still in there somewhere and how do I search it out not familiar with this end
of things..... sorry if I gave wrong info first. Esther

Simply DOS!?! Like from 1990!?!

I know it probably works fine for you and you have never seen any reason to upgrade, but it'll be a miracle if anyone remembers how it works 20+ years later.

If I remember so far back, I think the only way to keep prior year history was to make a copy of the data BEFORE running the year end.
