Hello

We recently upgraded from ACCPAC 4.2A to WSM 5.3A. We switched from Pervasive 2000 to MS SQL 2005. To do this we had to first upgrade to WSM 5.3A with Pervasive then did a DBDUMP and a DBLOAD into MS SQL.

Since we purchased ACCPAC 5.3 SQL we had to install a temporary Pervasive license. Now the Pervasive license has expired and we keep getting error message. We have tried to delete the LP53A.LIC and reinstalling the System Manager but once we reinstall the SQL license, the Pervasive expired license shows up again.

It seems that ACCPAC stores the license information in some Windows file. We have tried searching the Registry but didn't find the list of LANPAK license.

Does anyone know know where ACCPAC stores the LANPAK numbers installed.

Thanks

Stephen

Hello Stephen,

Just out of curiousity, how much did the upgrade from 4.2 to 5.3 cost?

Where is this "expired license" showing up? You did the right thing by deleting and recreating the LP*.LIC.

Hi Jay;

It shows up when we log in. ACCPAC says you have unlicensed applications. But we can accept the message and get in since we have licensed SQL LANPAK licenses and this is database our live system is in.

Try deleting both the SM and the LP licenses. And reinstalling, of course.

You're using the old dongle attachment? Then there is no solution.

You can leave the dongle attached to the NT4 and just move your application and data to the new server. Make sure the license RPC calls are directed at the NT4 server, there was a setup somewhere where you specify which server/computer has the dongle(s).

If you are using version 2, you should look at upgrading the system, because you will have more problems coming! Version 2 was designed for 16 bit operating system, the report writer CA-Ret was never converted to 32 bit. Only a very few of us remember the product. The current product has many more features and far more reliable!

Good luck!

Indeed, and of those of us who do remember it, remember it neither well nor fondly.
