Has anyone made the leap from 3.0 to 5.0 or 5.1 in Corporate? Is this possible or will I have to go up incrementally?

As long as you post or delete open AR and AP batches, and your data integrity is reasonably clean, you can go straight from 3.0 to 5.0. I haven't tried 3.0 to 5.1 yet.

Done so many I can't count them all
but what I will say is, it is almost insane to go from 3.0 to 4.2 without first pausing for a sec at 4.1.

the reason for this is if you find something that you missed when you are upgrading to 5 you are either restoring data next or re-copying it as you can't get back in to fix it.

If you just upgrade the system manager and core module on 1 pc to 4.1 16bit and something doesn't work you are still in the data, and you can fix it right then and there. you don't need activation codes, just a 30 day grace period is fine

once you get the core module data to 4.1 you can uninstall all the accpac modules from all the workstations and install Version 5.0 or 5.1 and the data should upgrade without problems.

A few things to note:
1) Corporate 3.0 is now Enterprise 5.1. So is it SBS 3.0 to Corporate 5.1 or Corporate 3.0 to Enterprise 5.1?
2) version 3.0 uses Caret reports and specs, so any custome cheques, invoices, credit notes ect will have to be redone. They can not be converted.
3) Did you use SuperCalc or Excell for your financial reporting? SuperCalc is no longer supported in 5.1.
4) If you were using SBS 3.0 and moving to Corporate 5.1 then limit on the number of segments in the GL code changed, the methods of reporting stats were reduced, so you may wish to get a list of features that were available in 3.0 and compare them with the 5.1 features and check which ones you are using.
5) Back up, back up and back up before starting and leave atleast one workstation with version 3.0 on until you are complete.

Good Luck
